The Atherton Tablelands Rail Trail is a 20.5 kilometre leisure cycle route between Atherton and Walkamin in Queensland's tropical north. The trail follows the abandoned railway track and has a flat surface and gentle slopes, making it perfect for cyclists of all ages. Cycling Experience: Starting Point: From the town of Atherton, you can rent a bike from a local bike rental shop such as Atherton Bike Hire or Northern Bikes. Before you start your ride, you can stop by Petals and Pinecones for breakfast to refuel. Scenery Along the Way: As you embark on the trail, you will cross Mazlin Creek, passing through dense forests and vast farmland. There are interpretive signs on the trail that introduce the rich history and culture of the area, making the ride more interesting. Tolga: Continue on and you will pass through the small town of Tolga. There are attractions such as the Tolga Woodworks, which showcases the local woodworking art and history. Stop here to admire the handicrafts and experience the unique charm of the town. If you choose to ride the entire trail, the trail ends in Walkamin. Of course, you can also turn back at any point according to your physical strength and time, and arrange your itinerary flexibly. Notes: Safety first: Although the trail is suitable for leisure riding, you still need to wear a helmet and obey traffic rules to ensure safety. Supplies: There are limited supply points along the way, so it is recommended to bring enough water and snacks. Cafés and shops can be found in towns such as Tolga for rest and replenishment. Weather: Tropical North Queensland has a changeable climate. Check the weather forecast before departure and bring sun protection and rain gear to cope with possible weather changes. The Atherton Tablelands Rail Trail not only provides a relaxing riding experience, but also gives you the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of the natural beauty and historical culture of the area. Whether you are an experienced cyclist or a tourist looking for a leisure activity, this trail is worth a try.

We made a booking, which was really easy through the app. It's a nicely maintained pub, but a pub all the same, so it's not the most intimate dining experience- but overall an enjoyable, easy atmosphere. The food and service was excellent! Fresh, well cooked and tasty as you could ask for, servings big enough we couldn't finish! My lady was able to order steak at blue, and I had the beef pie. Simply delicious! Thankyou for such a lovely, night, recommended!
